    In the second year of a three-year, $271,000 NASA Astrophysical Data Analysis Program grant, Jackson is looking for planets orbiting much closer to their host stars than astronomers once thought possible — including one the size of Mars that zips around its sun in just four hours, an orbital period shorter than the extended version of Peter Jackson’s “Return of the King.”
